The Ultimate Guide To THC Pills

Are THC pills better than smoking, vaping, drinking or eating medical cannabis?

As more people get to discover the health benefits of cannabis, consumption is sure to rise. Yet, one factor which constrains the widespread use is the dosage. Like every other drug, there’s a high tendency to overdose on cannabis.

This is even more likely when it is being used for recreational purposes i.e. to induce relaxation, uplift, and euphoria.

What are THC Pills?

First THC is an acronym for Tetrahydrocannabinol — the chemical compound responsible for the psychological effects of marijuana. Commercial THC capsules are made from extracted natural cannabis mixed with natural fatty oils (to facilitate the absorption of cannabinoids by the digestive system). THC pills are often gelatin encapsulated. They also come in the form of softgels — which many refer to as THC softgels.

There are numerous medicinal benefits that can be derived from THC pills. When consumed, the effect is almost felt immediately. The pill facilitates easier and quicker absorption of the THC content.

THC pills are excellent for relieving pain. They also help in relieving stress, insomnia, and other forms of unrest.

Here’s a list of some of some medical conditions which are often treated using THC pills.

  1. Arthritis
  2. Headaches and Migraines

Why take THC capsules?

You may ask why ingest THC in a pill form rather than use a vape pen or portable vaporizer to vape the thc content instead? (which is a much healthier option). Well, after researching, here is what we are able to find.

  • THC Pills are safer to consume

Scientists have demonstrated that cannabis plant, in itself, is not a harmful substance. In fact, it has several health benefits, hence, why several medical marijuana practitioners prescribe it to their patients.

There are various ways medical cannabis can be consumed i.e. smoking, vaping, eating, drinking, topical etc — vaping being the healthiest and smoking being the worst way to consume medical cannabis. When you smoke marijuana, you’re exposing yourself to the same problems as you would when you smoke tobacco — Lung irritation!

Irrespective of the substance you consume, smoking is a terrible way to ingest it. It can cause respiratory problems and can further compound the issue for victims. Thus, smoking is not the best way to consume THC for medical marijuana purpose.

Cannabis capsules provide you with an easy and effective way to ingest THC into your bloodstream, thus, eliminating the chances of any respiratory complication.

  • Appropriate dosage

As you know, vaping or smoking cannabis is usually done without measure. This means that you rarely measure the quantity of cannabis that you have consumed. Also, when you smoke your weed, you burn off the tiny hairs on the flower (the terpenes). Doing this limits the medical benefits available to you.

THC pills can be ingested in different dosages. For example, capsules come in 2mg, 10mg, 25mg, 50mg and 100mg.

Cannabis pills give you the best of both worlds. You get more potent cannabinoids upon consumption. You also take it in a controlled measure, avoiding overdose.

  • Convenience

There’s one general attribute of junkies — they reek of weed all the time! Even though they consume it for its medicinal purpose and not for recreation, yet the odor stays with them. Society generally frowns at this and this has led many to hide while smoking weed.

With THC pills, those days are over. You can consume your weed in the office, in public places, and in private without any fear of being condemned. You no longer need to walk around with mints or body spray to mask the weed smell.

Taking your daily dose of cannabis pill just got easier with THC pills.

How to make THC pills

Making your own thc pill or capsule isn’t difficult. It can be made with concentrates (hash oil, shatter etc). However, we have a created an easy step by step guide on how to get started.

Here are some of the ingredients and materials you need.

  • Virgin coconut oil
  • Soy lecithin
  • A functioning oven
  • Empty gelatin capsules
  • A syringe
  • A glass bowl
  • A spatula
  • A rubber band
  • A cooking pot and a lid
  • A sheet of parchment paper

  1. Weigh the marijuana and apportion 7 grams. Grind this and spread it across a parchment paper.
  2. Place the cannabis in a tray and position this tray in the oven for 30 minutes. Make sure the oven temperature is constant at 220 degrees Fahrenheit.
  3. The baking causes the cannabis to become like fine powder and prepares it for mixing.
  4. Add a tablespoon of virgin coconut oil to the cannabis powder. You can also add half a spoon of soy lecithin to the glass bowl.
  5. Stir well and turn the mixture into a pot.
  6. Heat this mixture for about 3 to 6 hours in a slow cooker and then cool the liquid after a while.
  7. Prepare the empty gelatin capsules and then, with the aid of a syringe, fill it with the mixture.
  8. Close the capsule and dry it. Store in a cool, dry place to preserve the integrity.

THC capsules vs smoking marijuana — which is economical?

It is important to think of this using long-term metrics. We rely on the same concept of smart energy and global warming. A device might appear costly initially, but considering the incentives, it is cost-effective.

The same with THC pills. WebMD released an estimate which put the cost of a THC pill between $678 and $514. Compare this to the $25-$50 it costs to smoke a joint weekly or monthly and you might conclude that it’s cheaper to smoke marijuana.

  1. Not so fast! Ingesting THC in a capsule form is healthier than consuming THC using a combustion method (weed) . Meaning, in the long run, if you smoke continuously, you may develop heart or lung disease —  which will drain your whole savings eventually.

I leave that to your imagination.

Note that there are distinctions between natural THC pills (which contain cannabinoids and other compounds) and other synthetic THC products (not from the cannabis plant and lacks essential compounds found in the whole marijuana plant).

You might’ve heard about Marinol, this is one of the most common synthetic THC pills. Although this is a legal alternative, yet, it has its shortcomings — the benefits are scarce.
